Meet the Founders

The Forge began with a group of fathers whose children train and compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We’re the parents beside the mat at practice, cheering at tournaments, and traveling with our kids to their next challenge. We’ve seen the confidence that comes from stepping onto the mat—and the determination it takes to return after a tough loss.

We wanted more opportunities close to home for our children to compete, learn, and grow. So we came together to build an event that combines meaningful competition, exciting prizes, and pride in representing an academy. We are the Forge Fathers, and we invite you to help us build something our young warriors can call their own.

Our Production Team

The Forge is built by the community it serves. Our production team brings together local BJJ coaches, referees, students, and parents from academies across the Sacramento area. Each contributes firsthand experience—from teaching and competing to helping families navigate tournament day.

Together, we’re creating an event where young athletes can challenge themselves, families feel welcome, and academies come together to celebrate their students. We value the lessons BJJ teaches beyond technique: listening, staying focused, respecting others, working through setbacks, and finding the courage to try again. Our goal is for every young warrior to leave with something to be proud of and a reason to keep growing.

The Forge is proudly supported by the Roll Forward Foundation, sharing a commitment to helping young people grow through Jiu-Jitsu, opportunity, and mentorship.
